    powered down last night as normal, but today when i tried to turn on the laptop, i hear a quick whizzing noise of the fans but my screen is black, no life, no post, but all lights on the panels work...

    what could be wrong?
    hdd issue?

    scared because i cannot even access bios or anything... it's just dead black..

    If your BIOS won't even start then it could be something as simple as a dead CMOS battery; a small, disk-shaped battery seated on the motherboard. Try replacing it.

    I don't know about HPs, but I've had similar issues with Dells, and sometimes the lights (CAPS, Num, etc.) indicate what the issue is. For example, on a Dell, if the CAPS Lock light blinks 10 times, it indicates a RAM error. Again, I don't know if HP does anything like that, but it would be worth looking into.
