I bought an HP dv6t-1100 about this time last year. I've noticed the only stories about HP repair that are posted online are horror stories. I was honestly scared to send it in after reading them. Anyways, I sent my laptop for repair on a Friday and it was back to me Wednesday. HP didn't receive it until Monday and it was sent back Monday afternoon. I was more than pleased with the experience. They replaced the heat sink fan. The fan was the issue it was sent in for but they also replaced the touchpad as the left button was loose (my fault, I'll admit it.). I noticed a few days later the feet on the bottom were also replaced. The only part I wasn't satisfied with was actually getting a service ticket in. The troubleshooting was tedious as I knew it wasn't a software issue but they insisted on formatting it anyways. Once I had them convinced it was a hardware problem, they created the ticket and put me on hold to speak to the hardware department. They weren't able to reach anyone but I received a call back about 4 hours later.

Overall, the repair went well and I was satisfied.

lol whenever they try to get me to do that stuff i either:
    a. tell them I already did it all (just say you are on a new install from the recovery discs)
    b. just go along with their prompts (but don't actually do anything to the notebook)
