Hey Guys,
My HP DV2500 laptops hard drive died last week, got on the phone to HP and they requested I send it to be repaired.
I'm very nervous though! For the past few months I've been guarding this thing with my life and its in prestige condition! No scratches, no bumps nothing.
Im nervous that if I send it in it will get scratched when they replace the hard drive.
I had to send in my Desktop to HP last year and that came back scratched all over the casing. This is why Im nervous. Its no big deal on the Desktop - but the Laptop It will be.
Any advice on what I can do about the whole scratching situation?
If it did come back damaged, what my best way of sorting it out would be?
Cheers
Matt

Wrap it in foil and send it to HP, they will get the picture.

I've never used HP repair, so I have to ask....
Can you just send in the hard drive itself (without the notebook)? -
-
Why don't u send it in the box it came in?

You should just remove the HD and send it to them -
Haha, Im sure im not the only one worried about this when sending in their notebook.
They are replacing the hardrive so i need to send in the computer so they can verify the harddrive is in need off replacing.
If i take the photo and the notebook comes back damaged . would they replace the caseing or what? -
Not necessarily. I don't know HP's specific policies, but most companies say that "normal wear and tear" can happen during repairs, and is not something to be worried about. I.E. they do not necessarily guarantee that they won't cause cosmetic damages.
