    My Presario 701CL died suddenly...

    I was using my Presario 701CL yesterday when it just died out of nowhere. When I say "died" I mean it just powered off abruptly. Now it won't turn back on.

    I don't know what's wrong with it, but here's what I do know:
    1. The battery is fully charged as shown on the indicator
    2. The power adapter's green light is on, but when I plug it into the laptop it turns off. When I take it out of the laptop, unplug it from the outlet, then plug it back into the outlet (but not the laptop) it comes back on. It's never lit up when it's connected to the laptop.
    3. The laptop doesn't turn on AT ALL and the power light is dead even with the fully charged battery in.

    I figure it's the power supply inside the laptop, but I want to see what you all think. If it is the power supply, is it worth fixing? I bought the laptop for $200 from a friend last year, and it's perfect for what I need it for.

    Thanks in advance! Please let me know what you think... I haven't gotten much help anywhere else.

    had the same problem with my brand new zd 7360! i send it to be fixed at the hp servise center a week ago! the problem is propably situated at the power supply inside as you have said. my story goes like this: i was playing solitaire and the power warning showed up but i ingnore it so i could calibrate my battery. it when off by it self. i turn it on and left it to shut down by it self again. but when i tried to turn it on again it wouldnt turn on. i left it for a while to cool and tried again. it turn on but the battery was low.i left to charge all night.the morning i turn it on and it work but the power indicator was jumping from battery to the adaptor and vice versa and the battery was low although it was charging all night.i tried to plug it off to see if the the laptop was working with out the battery and then i realised that it wasnt. then i realised again that i had a power problem inside.
