I had done a few researches before I got this comp, which was around July.
I know ppl have few questions about their 6000Z. I think these 3 are the most common questions.
    1. Heat
    2. Fan/noise
    3. battery

    My answers
    1. I used to have a DV5000z. It was actully about the same temp, but I don't feel the heat like 6000z at all. My conclusion the case is actully thicker; it gives the computer parts more room for air flow, which call the comp pretty fast.

    2. this is also related to case problem. Thinner smaller computer = warmer comp because of the less room between all the parts therefore the fan needs to kick in more often. About the fan get really noise you should read around the forume. The T models also have problem with Fan have high pitch noisy, which I don't experince in mine at all. (By the way I think the Intel single core CPU are somehow warmer than there Duo was my finding a while ago, and this started when P4 2.8 Ghz presscott cores.) Correct me if I am wrong in this.

3.About battery... ppl should do some reserach before buying this comp. battery problem was the worest part in this model!! I knew about it before I bought and I know I rarely use the battery, but I do test the battery in dynamic power. It was 1:45 until it shut down itself. However, I heard if you switch the power to battery opt it can go up to 3. So please no more complains about the battery is weak stuff. PPl should have know it before buying it. For what you are getting HP is offering fairly cheap compare to other brand such as SONY, Toshiba, and ASUS, and that includes the style!

You can polish plastic ;) "Meguiars, clear plastic polish" is one company that sells polish at auto stores but there are others also.
