You can add an external tv tuner to any notebook.
I suggest that maybe you should go with 256 megs of memory and then upgrade it yourself, it'll be cheaper.

    looks good...

    couple of things to consider:
    - you can pick up a 1GB stick of DDR2 ram at newegg for $100 and change (I paid $110). Then you can have the 1GB + the standard 256MB.
    - I'm a XP Home hater because I'm a developer. If you plan on doing any development, go to XP Pro.
    - And finally, I'm the only person on the planet who has ordered the non-brightview version of this. I love it. I'm not particularly attractive, so I didn't feel like staring at my reflection all day long in the brightview (aka mirror) screen.

Yeah, all the DV4000's I've seen have the BrightView screen. Actually, when I saw it in stores, I loved it and looked at standard screens with revulsion. But after getting one and looking at the screen for extended periods of time, I hated seeing my reflection, especially when the screen was displaying dark colors. But now I've totally gotten used to it 2 weeks later and I love it. Its all personal preference really.

Awesome thanks guy, I'm definately going to go with 256 then upgrade..I have never installed ram, is it hard? and would this one work with my notebook? http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16820144183

I am planning to watch DVD's on my laptop often, so hopefully the brightview will be better for that..Thanks again

The BrightView screen was designed for watching DVDs and viewing photos, its really nice. Installing ram is the easiest computer upgrade you could do, anybody can do it.

Wow, I should have figured this out earlier..but the hp.com site does not ship to canada, and you cannot customize notebooks on hp.ca so I'm pretty much stuck...Unless there is some sort of US company that allows products to ship to them, and then ship them to canada...Do you know of any? lol..

    Thanks

There are some companies which ship to Canada like TigerDirect and Ecost, but they won't have customization like on HP.com

Darn it, that stinks for you. Canada always seems to get the short end of the stick when it comes to notebook computer buying.
