Hi everyone, Im here with a problem that I don't know even exists?

Anyway, whenever I'm gaming (e.g I just finished play Hat Fortress 2) the vents on the right side and top of the notebook [the metal on it aswell] is scorchingly hot, It feels like a damn frying pan. Does anyone else have these high temperatures?

I don't know if this is normal or if I have to get it fixed up by HP,

    thanks guys.

What kinda surface are you playing on? On soft surfaces, it will generally be hotter. I use mine on a hard surface, but it still gets pretty hot, scorching sometimes, when i overclock anyway. But i use a cooling pad which keeps it very cool.

run hwmonitor and post your temperatures when idle and at load.
This should give us some insights if your fan is working fine or not.

Thanks guys, I'll run Hwmonitor when I get back. I've used up all my Gbs for the month, but Im switching over today.

I also have a rowing regatta on saturday which will take up most of the day.

I have the same i5 520m and mine definitely warms up on the right side but never too bad. I've seen other laptops get much hotter.
