I just picked it up at Best Buy today. Paid $1400+taxes for it. It's the dv7-1038. P7350, 4gb ram, 9600 gt card. No tv tuner or fingerprint reader. I was pretty surprised and disappointed about that, but I'll get over it.

Setup took me a couple of hours. Just pretty much booting it up and making the recovery discs. I'm just playing around with it right now. And seeing as this is my first laptop and have only used desktops before, I'm still trying to get accustomed to the keyboard and touchpad.

Right now, I'm loving this. Question though, how do I open that slot to put my remote control in?

Congratulations on the laptop! Should be a nice system. As far as the pc express card slot is concerned, it is spring assisted...just push the cover in and it should pop out by itself.

I remember those days. The excitement of opening the box and being able to take the PC everywhere with me was exhilarating.

    WELCOME TO THE CLUB!

The DV7T is awesome. read my review http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=284823

The scroll bar should be as easy as moving your finger up and down on the line lol.

As for opening another tab in firefox just hit CTRL + T. That will open it up for ya.

I hope you enjoy that laptop. HP is a good computer.

from dv7t to a firefox question..

Just press "Ctrl" while clicking your links using the touchpad. It would open in a new tab..

I really envy you guys for your wonderful laptop. Last year even I was really excited on buying a dv9500t with great specs. But unfortunately this year the nvidia 8400m gs has given up rendering 3d graphics and the laptop feels like a piece of junk.

No way to rectify this problem other than to replace the motherboard for which HP charges a petty $600-700. For now I am using the laptop with generic vista display drivers which allow 2d graphics but no 3d graphics.

HP you really had a plan it seemed...

    Software issue.

I haven't experienced that at all. I'm using the speakers right now.
