After much searching I bought the HP dv5000z. And it is being built now and will ship by next Thursday. I have a few questions but first off here are the specs:

- 80 GB 5400 RPM Hard Drive
- FREE Upgrade DVD+/-RW/R CD-RW Combo w/Double Layer
- FREE Upgrade to 54g(TM) 802.11b/g WLAN w/125HSM!!
- None
- 6 Cell Lithium Ion Battery
- Microsoft(R) Works/Money
questions:
1. Can anyone link me to some good inexpensive ram from newegg in 1gb sticks?
2. Is the graphics card upgradable? (even though I won't probably)
3. Does anyone have the tv tuner and how is it?
4. I have read some info on XP Media center and watched the demo but for anyone that has it, how is it? Is it pretty much layed out the same as reg. Windows XP?
5. Anyone who has the dv5000z, I'd love to hear input or see pictures!
Sorry so many questions (I'm just excited about my purchase)

1. Corsair and OCz proven to work fine.
2.No, it is not upgradable
3.Donno
4. XP Media Center is nothing but XP Professional with media extensions, I have installed it on one my desktops. -

Transcend and gigaram have very good reviews. I have transcend on the way for me. If you're on a budget (like me), go for pc2700.

If you want to purchase additional RAM, then why did you configure your dv5000z with 2x256MB sticks?

I have had my dv5000 since 1/19 and to me...its great!
-Microsoft(R) Windows(R) XP Home Edition with SP2
-AMD Turion(TM) 64 ML-32 (1.8GHz/512KB L2 Cache)
-15.4" WXGA BrightView Widescreen (1280x800)
-128MB ATI RADEON(R) XPRESS 200M w/Hypermemory(TM)
-1.2GB DDR2 SDRAM (1x1GB - 1x256MB)
-80 GB 5400 RPM Hard Drive
-LightScribe 8x DVD+/-RW&CD-RW Combo w/DL
-54g(TM) 802.11a/b/g WLAN & Bluetooth
-12 Cell Lithium Ion Battery
I added the Crucial 1GB 200-Pin DDR SO-DIMM DDR 333 (PC 2700) for 104.00 - no issues on complaints at all, a nice fast upgrade - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16820145068 - some may say 2700 memory is "slower"...to me, its like comparing a 1.8ghz to a 2.2ghz comp, is it any faster? not any faster than I can blink my eye.
The XP MCE addition looked to only add some TV recording and a few other little features. I opted for the XP home addition (have a lic copy of XP pro already) and I do like the QuickView feature of the dv5000 and not having to boot up to the OS for DVD and Music use.
Im very pleased with my dv5000, but still can pick a few things i would change...like the shiney/glossy area around the keyboard (leaves fingerprints, etc), 6cell would have been nice for a more portable feel, ....some have stated the case feels flexy and the keybaord gives a bit in the bottom right corner - I have noticed this only after looking for it, kinda like you will notice a needle in the haystack if you go looking for it..otherwise I am very please with the whole package!
attached a few sample pics -sorry the quality sucksAttached Files:
