when you mean slow what exactly do you mean? the songs or the graphics or other?
I also have Itunes on my rig and it runs fine except for coverflow. When i view albums w/ coverflow its really slow. I just take it off of that and it runs fine. Coverflo is the only thing that runs slow on Itunes for me.

SORRY! I forgot about my itunes store experience also. Well in the few past weeks it has been slow also. I don't know what it is. It just happened.

I've just bought an HP Pavillion DV9000 series (DV9574ea) and have noticed lots of problems with iTunes too. Cover Flow is painfully slow (sadly one feature i don't want to switch off), playback of music often stutters, mostly for no reason (i.e. it's left playing, i'm not performing any tasks), and when maximising iTunes after it's been minimised the screen goes black apart from sections of the iTunes screen that load really slow.

I've noticed quite a few other bugs with Vista in general (Office crashing/file transfers not completing) and it's actually got to the point where i've tried to install XP - only I can't seem to do that either! The hard drive isn't compatible with XP (it's SATA).

Anyone had any luck installing XP or improving the performance of iTunes?

Go read the sticky post on the forum that explains how to install XP on the newer Vista HP Laptops. The only problem with your laptop is that all the XP drivers aren't available so you'll be at a little loss if you do move to XP. Basically you have to integrate the SATA drivers into the XP install disk.

Anyways, all of you with new HP laptops that haven't done so already, go do a clean install and then tell us if your problems keep occurring.

i performed a clean install prior to even installing the latest version of itunes. I don't know what the problem is. The only problem I have is with coverflo. I really don't like it anyways so I just turn it off. The other problems were caused by the wireless connection I had running at the time.

Sounds like a Apple problem to me.

    As for store access.

And let's just say that iTunes is less than a well written application.

Yes, I have the same problem. I've got an HP DV9548ca with 4 GB of RAM and a Core 2 Duo AND an 8600M GS, yet still the Coverflo runs like crap, why the hell is it so slow? I really like that feature cause I have an iPhone and it runs SOO smoothly on my iphone, and i want it for my computer too =C

Installing it againd doesn't help?? I've installed it like 40 times on my computer and many times on other computers and it does not work, even if your specs are high? that is, the coverflo never runs smoothly. If you check, MANY people have complained about coverflo running slowly...

There has got to be a solution sooner or later...

I am also seeing very sluggish response in iTunes on my system. It works well enough, but I don't spend a lot of time in it. I guess I have adapted to it. Maybe iTunes 8.0 will come out soon with fixes for this problem.
