How long have you owned your machine? Could be you just need a new battery. I just went through this same situation with a PowerBook which is about 2-3 years old. The battery was totally dead and wouldn't take a charge at all.

I have this machine for 1 year and i bought a new genuine adapter from HP, but just before i went to buy a new charger, in my task bar it said Plugged in, charging and it was on 0%

I got a new adapter because the cable of the first one got cut.

    Please help :(

Before this problem started, did you primarily use it plugged into the wall with the battery in the laptop?

-Take the battery pack and AC power out

-Hold the power button for 30 seconds or more

    -Try again
