anybody care to post some articles here about hp notebook? My hp compaq 8510p haven't arrived yet :( need to wait probably 2 - 3 more days.
O yah, maybe i need to start this. I had an hp compaq 8510p a month ago. had it for only a few days until i checked the warranty status and says that the notebook had been registered since sept. 2007 but bought it on early april 2008. Also when i tried to make a recovery disc there was no more option on the hp manager to do this. Tried to recover the notebook to it's factory setting using F11 key but no success. Then tried to force boot from the recovery partition by making the recovery partition ( drive d ) active. But still no success then when i made reboot again ( auto boot up from drive c as per notebook default ) then got this message " mbr not found". contacted hp and they send me a recovery disc FOC. at the same time went to the shop where i bought my NB and inquire them about the warranty. Well, they cannot say much and they offered me a refund. At first i was quite hesitant since i really like this particular notebook. But in the end i agreed then went back home very very sad. Then one week ago i happened to pass by a shop where they sell the hp compaq 6910p and inquired if they have the 8510p and to my great surprise they have but need to wait for one week. Right there and then i gave them a deposit to order this notebook and now i'm waiting for my NB to arrive. I'm so excited guys some more no need for me to burn any recovery disc coz i have already the original recovery disc from hp.
have very nice experience with hp...

I'll be part of the NBR HP team as well. Besides my nw8440, I own an HP L2045w LCD monitor, an HP 35s scientific calculator, a Deskjet 990Cse printer, a Deskjet D4160 printer, and Photosmart 385. Back at home, my family owns an OfficeJet Pro L7650. All of these products have worked great.

Can we have a poll to decide on which logo to use? IMHO, the NBR HP Team should only have one logo to avoid confusion.

Could you shrink yours down a bit? It's very, very well done. It just seems a bit big.

It looks like we have the same external monitor! (HP L2045w) Kewl.

Just curious, do you notice any flickering issues with yours? I notice a slight amount, but only with darker backgrounds.

hey guys, just want to share with you. finally got my hp compaq 8510p. now i'm in the process of installing the 64 bit vista business. Also bought a legal copy of office 2007. Just want to ask if installing comodo firewall on a business type notebook ( coz what i see there's so many security features on business type notebook ) will have a negative effect? i'm using comodo on my reliable asus m2c dual boot to xp and vista basic. Didn't have any issue on both os but wonder if there will be on vista business 64 bit.

    Badly needed your help guys.

Shouldn't be a problem because Comodo is 32bit. Nearly all 32bit software runs of Vista 64. The issues that people have are drivers for some older gear. 64bit requires 64bit drivers.

Anyway, their site confirms that version 3.0 works with 64bit Vista.

Disable or uninstall the other ones. Comodo is probably better than anything that it might come bundled with.

I didn't notice any flickering on mine, but it's dimmer than my Dell 2007WFP, which looks much better.
