Today my nc6000 arrived from tigerdirect.com. I found it doesn't have centrino logo, so i use cpu-z to check. Then i found the cpu is 1.6 Banias with 1mb cache!! It is different from the website said 2mb cache pentium 725. Does anyone know any nc6000 use 2mb cache Dothen ? Is there a big different between these two cpu?

The older versions of the NC6000 used the Banias CPU. If you got it from TigerDirect, it's possible they sold you old inventory (still new, but sitting in their warehouse). The newer models use the Dothan CPU's. The notebook not containing the Centrino sticker may just mean that this unit either doesn't have a wireless card or it doesn't use the Intel WiFi card (Broadcom possibly). Centrino is just a marketing gimick used by Intel so they can sell more of their products. You still get the battery life and capabilities. The Dothan CPU is slightly faster because of the extra 1MB of L2 cache, otherwise, I believe they're generally the same.

Thx for your reply. I know there will be something wrong on the configuration when i found this deal. Anyway, i paid $1399 for it and come with 14.1" sxga+, 2x256mb ram, 40gb hdd, 802.11a/b/g wireless and gigabit network, 3 years warranty. There is $200 rebate, and i hope i can get it so it cost me $1199.
One more question, i found my warranty has been started since NOV 2004. Is it because I bought it from tigerdirect, and they registered this product? -
I hate to say this but you may be out of luck I had 90.00 in rebates I was supposed to get from tiger direct and so did my parents and neither or us ever got them, so needless to say I don't buy or recommend them anymore
