    Hi,
I am using a fairly out of date NC8000 (jan 2004) and I have been having a problem with the LCD display for some time now (it's a 15" 1400x1050).

On the right side edge of the LCD display, the screen shows a band of 'instability' where the image is all blurred.

The band is about an inch wide and the problem started a few years ago when connecting power hungry accessories into the USB ports (which sits just underneath the right side of the screen) but then got systematic and now happens all the time.

The only time when the display is nominal for a few minutes is when computer is started on batteries but then, as components heat up, the blurring occurs again.

Of course I cannot consider replacing LCD with a new one because I found on the web that the cost of a new screen is higher than cost of a new computer with better spec.

Then of course I am not even sure that the problem is in the display and not somewhere else.

    Suggestions?
