Hello all, I recently got an NC8430 for free from a friend. He had dropped it on some grass (o.0') and after that day the lcd display just hasn't worked right. Ive noticed that if I flex the screen just a tad bit everything will show up just like it was brand new. Otherwise when I don't flex the screen all i see is random crap like everything is scrambled together. I was wondering if anyone has any ideas about how I could fix this. This laptop isn't under warranty so I cant send it in for repair. Thnx for any and all help !!! :)

Probably a loose contact inside. You make it stand firm when you flex the screen and all the pixels are connected. Maybe you should send it for repair.

The service manuals are on HP's website. Before sending it in for repair you might want to open it up and see if you can find a loose connection.

Or if you have the accidental damage warranty, just send it in.
