Hi all, I have been reading here for a while and have learned alot-thank you.
My question is, has anyone ever bought from Page Computers? The reason I am asking is that on HP's websight they said that they do not currently have any online dealers selling this product. I am just making sure so that if I purchase the nc8430 from Page that I will still get the warranty and support that I would if I purchased from HP. Any advise will be greatly appreciated.
Btw, I was going to buy the D620 from Dell until I happened on this sight.

Yes, there are plenty of retailers offer the Nc8430. Take a look here- http://www.pricegrabber.com/p__HP_Hewlett_Packard_Compaq_nc8430_Notebook,__19875466/search=nc8430.
You will get the warranty and support through HP. However, you don't recieve the 15 or 30 day refund policy that HP offers. Most retails only allow for a unopened product to be returned with a fee of 15 percent. I bought from a retail and have been plenty happy. -
Their ratings have dropped recently on Pricegrabber. Might want to look at this. 4.21 over the last three months.

Hey guys thanks for the input.
I pulled the trigger and ordered the NC8340 from Page Computers. I received the unit yesterday and Page Computers was great for me.
Although I haven't done any multi-tasking yet, I love the computer so far. -
Pagecomputers is a POS company. It says on their website that in stock does not mean that it is in stock for pickup at the LA warehouse. So I called the customer service to ask if it was in stock. I explained that I was about an hour away and wanted to come pick it up. He checked to see if it was in stock at the LA warehouse and I told him I would be there in about an hour.
Well I drive down to LA near echo park, to a POS rundown building. Walk in and its a call center. Then one of the people tells me that they dont do that and asked who told me that. Then he checked and said they didnt even have it in stock there. So after 2 hours of driving, a few gallons of gas I had no laptop. That was one of the worste experiences I have had with a computer company (besides fry's). I will never buy anything from them again. And after seeing the building they are operating out of......I almost turned back around before even going in. So I feel you got lucky getting your laptop with how that crappy company runs. -
Using Pricegrabber on Monday morning, Page Computers was by the cheapest for this laptop. So much cheaper that I had to carefully go through the reviews. What I saw was a pattern of customers who thought the product was in stock but eventually found out it was backordered. The 2nd cheapest was the same story. The 3rd cheapest was Buy.com whom I once purchased an external hard drive form them. They were $100 more expeinsive than Page but I trusted. I placed my order Monday morning, paid for overnight FedEx and got it Tuesday evening. It's worth it to pay the extra dollars.

I ended up getting mine cheaper from www.provantage.com anyway. Came to 1620 after shipping and since Im in CA they have to ship it to their OHIO warehouse then to me so I dont pay tax. Ordered it tuesday morning and it had already been shipped like 2 hours later. So far Im impressed, cant wait to get the computer though
