Hey guys!
I'm currently looking to purchase an HP NC8430 (RB554UT pre-config) and I'm planning on bumping the RAM up to 2GB's shortly after getting it (the config I'm looking at comes standard with 1GB).
What I'm wondering, is if that 1GB comes in the form of 1 DIMM or 2 DIMM's. I know you can select what you want it to have on HP's BTO models, but haven't found any info yet on what exactly the pre-configs come with.
Thanks!

Here's a website with the info on that model:

It's got 2x512MB sticks. -
Thanks night_2004!
Just the info I was looking for, and lightning quick too!
Now I just need to decide on which brand to get. ^^ -
Anything like G.Skill, Corsair, Kingston...decent name brand ram should be fine. Check out www.newegg.com for the best deals that I know of. PC5300 DDR2 200pin notebook ram is what you need.

I have another 1 Gb of PQI ram and it's working fine.

HP are not very picky with memory.
Have tried Infineon, Micron, Samsung, Nanya memory without any problems.
You do not need 5300 memory. PC4200 will work fine too.
