    Hey guys!

I'm currently looking to purchase an HP NC8430 (RB554UT pre-config) and I'm planning on bumping the RAM up to 2GB's shortly after getting it (the config I'm looking at comes standard with 1GB).

What I'm wondering, is if that 1GB comes in the form of 1 DIMM or 2 DIMM's. I know you can select what you want it to have on HP's BTO models, but haven't found any info yet on what exactly the pre-configs come with.

    Thanks!

Anything like G.Skill, Corsair, Kingston...decent name brand ram should be fine. Check out www.newegg.com for the best deals that I know of. PC5300 DDR2 200pin notebook ram is what you need.

HP are not very picky with memory.
Have tried Infineon, Micron, Samsung, Nanya memory without any problems.
You do not need 5300 memory. PC4200 will work fine too.
