    Hi,

    I have a Compaq Presario V4000T.
I think I may need to calibrate my battery since it holds now less than one hour of use.
Using the program EVEREST I diagnosed my battery level and it showed that it is 29% worn off (the capacity has dropped from 43200 mWh to the actual level of 30 348 mWh).
Can anyone please give a suggestion on how I can improve my battery life and is it better to use somekind of a software program to calibrate the battery.

    Thank you very much!
    Plamen

You can look through the battery guide for information.

www.batteryuniversity.com also has more technical info.

Generally the wear estimates are just that, estimates. However, your battery may have seen enough use/time activated to have actually dropped in capacity quite a bit. If you completely drain and recharge the battery it should recalibrate itself.

I doubt to do that so often. Mine only has 3860 mwh now from 4300mwh just within 3 month of purchase. Once I did fully discharge and recharge cycle two or three times, it only drop the capacity, and not coming back.
