Apologies if this is a repeated thread, but all the posts i found are about dv6000t, 8000, etc.
i have an HP Pavillion dv5000 CTO notebook with the amd turion 64 ml-32 bought from hp.com, I tried installing both xp 64 and vista 64, and all drivers load correctly except for the conexant ac-link audio. It says "Failure" at the result screen, and then i tried manually installing it from the device manager. Then i got "this device cannot start" i tried realtek ac97 drivers, compaq conexant drivers, none worked. The only solution that worked was when i installed the conxexant ac97 vista x64 driver from hp.com but i had to press f8 on bootup to select "disable driver signing". then i got sound but my headphone jack didnt work. I really want to use x64 vista cuz i have noticed it does perform faster and i can have many applications running at the same time. Please help me! i'm pulling my hair out here! lol j.k.

any ideas? or drivers in the works? thanks in advance

    Mike

thanks for the reply, i already tried the audio64a.zip and it did give me sound but my mute button didnt light up and the speakers give a "pop" at boot up and shut down. i guess i'll have to deal with it until a better driver comes out

anyone else have this model notebook and have any solutions?
