    I've removed the underside, but don't really know what I'm looking for. I have the HP Pavilion dv6t-3100 CTO.

    I have worked on the Pavilion dv6 , I am not sure on the "T"though that you have.
    Underneath there are several covers that cover 2 mpci-e slots.
    One is for the tv module, it may be empty, and the other is for the wi-fi card
    Do you not see them ?
