    NEED QUICKLY: HP dv6700 CTO XP LAN Driver!

    I just came to college, thinking that the dorms were wireless, but they aren't. They only have Ethernet internet connections.

    This would normally be fine, but I'm missing the XP LAN drivers for my dv6700 CTO Laptop, since I had downgraded from Vista to XP.

    I really need to access the internet from my room. Can someone please post the LAN drivers for the laptop? I tried the ones on the HP site and they didn't work!

    Please help!!!!

    Were you on the correct driver page? The model number you punch in on the bottom of your notebook should look something like this KL090AV.

    DV6700 is the series, and can be both AMD & Intel with completely different specifications......

    Oh thanks for telling me. My model number is KL090AV.
    It's Intel BTW.

    None of the drivers there work. I tried the Intel Pro/wireless (even though I already have wireless working on my laptop), and I also tried the Broadcom WLAN driver, but no luck.

    Please help me out here!

    Thanks a bunch, but it didn't seem to work.

    I downloaded the Windows XP version, and I extracted it. I then started the "new hardware" wizard and tried to have it find the driver for the Ethernet controller in the extracted folder.

    It immediately came back as having found nothing.

    This is very frustrating.

    Yes, the driver on the second download link you gave worked for me. It completely solved my LAN problem and I was able to connect to my laptop right away, without needed a restart!

    Just for reference, I scoured the driver from a Compaq Presario V6700TX.

    Glad it worked out......... :)

    I've got the same problem, but I have the AMD core. The fixes that worked for the other guy didn't work for me. My pn is gw772av. Please help, classes start in a few days.
