    Here are the details:

I have been doing much research lately regarding a new DR unit for myself, and of course wanted to spend as little as possible. I finally decided between the EMachines M6805 for $899 refurbished or refurbed ZX5000 which have been going for about $1000 on Ebay. I guess I was worried about the quality issues with the M6805, but it had slightly better specs. The HP had ATI 9200, not 9600, P4 3GHz versus Athlon64. I went to CompUSA to get a look at the ZX5000 before buying and saw that they were offering a new zx5295us instead of a lower model that they had run out of to cover a big ad. SWEET! This is the P4 3GHz, ATI 9600, 512MB, 60GB etc. It does not have a DVD-R, but it does have a combo-drive, I am ok with this. After a single $350 mail-in rebate, this brand-new unit will cost $699.00. After all of my reseach of models, options, new/refurb, warranty, size etc. I realized that this was the best deal I had ever seen and bought it instantly. I don't know if this is a nationwide offer, but grab one if you can. What do you think! I am so pleased.

BTW, the original ad was for a ZX5000 with P4 2.8, 256MB, 40GB for $699 and they offered this as a replacement. So cool. Right place, right time.

Since it is a DTR, get an external burner. They are faster and cheaper.

I see a similar deal at Compusa but the monitor is XGA not WXGA.
    Can you clarify ?

I just purchased the zx595Us at a Compusa in Fl, they ssold it to me for $899 plus taxes. Did I get ripped off? It looks the same as yours, a Pentium four 3GHz 512MB, 64MB. The only diference is the DVD/Cd writer combo... I'm kind of pis...upset. Didn't get any rebate either.

Can you email me a link for teh rebate form? I might be able to claim something

    Thanks!

You are out of luck there...first it was a substitute model, plus the rebate ended about a month ago. Mine has 128MB video, so you might have a different model, probably a fair price though.
