Apparently Notebook Hardware Control was causing the notorious standby bug on HP/Compaq laptops as the NHC website nows says that it's been fixed!!! :D

Huzzah!! I can use the latest ATI Drivers now!!! (Ironically, the original HP ATI drivers never caused the standby bug).

New build of NHC is out too (Version 1.10 Beta 2)!!

Hum that is strange. I have never had problems running NHC on my compaq. Maybe I will download the new one anyways. Thanks for the tip.

I think the problem is with 1.10b1 and it is fixed in b2. I have 2 partitions that I updated the one with b2 and have no problem in standby recovery even with Omega driver. The other partition uses HP's ATI driver and cannot recover from standby while running b1.
