HI im new to the forum I recently got a HP envy 14t-2000 of ebay, its a lovely laptop but i can't seem to get the AMD graphics card to display, the bios shows 2 modes for switch-able graphics, but windows 7 does not pick up the amd card only the HD3000, i've looked in device manager and no sign of it there.
I have tried installing all the drivers of the HP website half seem to install ok but some and the AMD graphics card one seems to install ok but i do get the error message access denied half way through, so don't think they install properly,
Also the FAN is constantly on from the moment is leaves bios boot screen and is very loud, i've tried changing stuff in bios and changing some stuff in power management but no difference,
Does anyone have any ideas on how i can sort these problems. its got a intel i7
Thanks seb

I suggest you do a clean install if you haven't already. Seems like the original install may be borked.

I'd suggest reinstalling graphics drivers first.

Hi thanks for the info, i have tried installing the drivers various times, catalyste manager does not detect any hardware?, i just done a complete delete of the HP PARTITIONS format of c: and full win7 re-install and still not working, device manager just comes up with standard vga adaptor, i've tried update driver and selecting some drivers in the c:\amd folder but no luck
any more ideas?? -
Hi as stated above i formated and removed all the partitions apart from the local, and reinstalled win7 from my own NON HP disc but would still not work,
I have just been onto hp for half and hour and they say i can't send back for warrenty due to it not having HPs os install on it ??????, so i need to order the recovery disc for a US laptop im in the UK, but HP wont send me a US disc to the UK????,
Does anyone know where i can get hold of a link for a recovery disc, also does this sound right what she was saying she said the recovery or system partition of the HP INSTALL have the drivers for the dual graphics etc, does this sound right???
Thanks. Seb -
I bought the recovery discs as I like having a physical media in case of a hdd failure. The discs are 4 total with total disc size around 16-18gb. I dont know of any way to get them to you in the UK, maybe ebay? I dont have the part # for mine with me but I can tak a look when I get home and post it here, might help with searching
