Hmm, interesting! I guess the Geforce Go 8xxx aren't quite ready to be released yet. It'll still be interesting to see how the x3100 benches.

Where would be the best place to buy a 15 inch from? I dont need all that fluff. Just a Wordprocessor, I Explorer and burn and play music files.

no geforce card the 2500 costs more then the 6500. HP screws up again. They want to beat their competitors. Why no 7200 speed Hard drive. I wonder if the fan runs all the time on these models

Wow.. price is close to 900 w/o cutomizing it, How bad is the Intel graphic card??

Is the graphic that is going to come out in the future more for gamers or will i see a difference when i am just browsing the internet?

Who has place their orders and who is waiting for a better graphic cards??

    Hi dgcoupe,

I'm waiting (hoping!) for a better graphics card on the 15.4', and higher resolution (WSXGA).
It's unbelievable that HP offers ony WXGA, when all its competidors (asus, dell) have hi-res screens..

I am guessing waiting for a better graphic card and a better screen offer would bump the price to around 1200...

I just wish they offered anything better than the intel graphic card as it seems to be the base graphic card for most laptops

Yeah, tell me about it. I received my dv9000t 3 weeks ago, so I was going to return it and upgrade to a 9500. But now with the delay of the nvidia cards, plus the extra 2-3 weeks it takes to receive a CTO system, I'm looking at another 2 months.

Got to decide if I'll just keep the one I have, or return it and be with no laptop for 2 more months :(.

I was hoping to order the dv6500t today, but since there is no discrete graphic card options available, I am going to wait... Hopefully they will come out earlier than a month..

    nvidia is used for games

but if the user need the laptop for just normal use (not for game ) x3100 will be enough and more than enough , very important thing in x3100 is it can run aero (for windows vista )

The current drivers for the Go 7200 are not the greatest under Vista, as it scores the same as a GMA950. In optimized 3D performance, the 7200 would easily stomp the 950.

Sorry HP, you lose. MORE money for less offerings than a better configured Lenovo? I wanted an HP but too bad now, they can go screw.

It's only that expensive because the base configuration starts out with an Intel Core 2 Duo rather than some crappy Celeron M.

bummer about the graphic card. If they had the Nvidia I'd swap my Costco bought DV6000t in a heart beat. Is this santa Rosa thing much better then my current dv6000t T7200?

Not according to the benches floating around NBR. Performance gain is basically negligible.
