That all depends on what you do with your laptop? Are you a hardcore gamer? Or do you just play casually?

Oxig3n: lol thanks for the honesty :D

Sendmarksmail: i play games almost everyday but for an hour a day max. So i guess i'm casual gamer :p

Stalker Clear Sky works fine on it but i had to lower the settings to get acceptable FPS.
Dyou think this card can handle Need for speed: undercover or Crysis Warhead?

sorry if i'm bein a bit too specific..

in that link, 2.5k in 06? thats pretty epic =P guess its not as bad as i thought it'd be. a hell of alot better than any intergrated option thats for sure.

But i doubt it'd run nicely on crysis warhead. but i dont know, prove me wrong again =P

Just wanted to point out the review of the 9200 in the link is for 256m DDR3 overclocked, the HP come equipped with DDR2.

    Ramyk,
Also, based upon your definition of casual gamer and the games you mentioned, you will need the 9600.

Its a decent card IMO, i have it in my dv5t
itll play most games, i dont think i can run crysis, but i forget if that is a processor problem or a Grphx card problem.
    i think its a processor (2.23ghzx2) problem
    whatever
i dont mind the card, its not DAZZLING BLOW YOUR SOCKS OFF CINEMATICS WHILE PLAYING good but its LOOK DOESNT THIS LOOK SHINY decent.

good, i hope crysis works...I'd kill myself if i downloaded 6Gb for nothin! plus i don't need it to be amazin, i didn't intend on usin this notebook for games at all. I just noticed the nVIDIA sticker and thought i'd give gaming a go, and it worked fine :) all i need it to do is allow me to play games with better graphics than i got on my Ps2. It's definately does so :D. Just thought i'd ask if i got good value for my money. Obviously not :( :p

sorry i'm offtopic now but these r the system requirements for Crysis Warhead:

CPU: Intel Pentium 4 2.8 GHz (3.2 GHz for Vista), Intel Core 2.0 GHz (2.2 GHz for Vista), AMD Athlon 2800+ (3200+ for Vista) or better
RAM: 1GB (1.5GB on Windows Vista)
Video Card: NVIDIA GeForce 6800 GT, ATI Radeon 9800 Pro (Radeon X800 Pro for Vista) or better
    VRAM: 256MB of Graphics Memory
    Storage: 15GB
    Sound Card: DirectX 9.0c Compatible
    ODD: DVD-ROM
OS: Microsoft Windows XP with Service Pack 2 or Microsoft Vista
    DirectX: DX9.0c or DX10

It says 6800 does that mean mine should do?

Well I think that's the recommended. As long as you meet the minimum. I had an old dv6700t with an Nvidia 8400m gs and it ran the first Crysis game just fine on full 1280x800 resolution and low/medium settings.

So your 9200m gs which has a higher clock, should run it just fine.

You won't get the highest frame rate on earth, but it'll run more than acceptable. Just play with the settings.

I would have believed you if you had an 8600M GT or even the 8400M GT, but since no HP laptop comes with those cards I guess I have to insist on a screenshot for that claim of yours. In fact, the 8400M GS is rather poor and performs a little better than IGPs.

The 9200m GS GDDR3 can get 2086 stock points in 3dmark06demo and 2642 points with 700 core and 850 memory, with a gpu temp of 59c

    This is at 1280x800 resolution

I know i got those scores today.

    Regards

    John.

ramyk how did you buy your laptop? if you bought it from HP you can return it or exchange it within 21 days.....you can use the HP 30% off coupon now and custom build a $1000 laptop for $700 with a better graphics card maybe.....I see you have the dv4 but if you move to the dv5 you can get the 9600gt. Just a thought.....either way I think your 9200 will play all games ok for the next couple years.

I bought it from a retailer. I think it's HP's agent in saudi arabia but we don't get the type of customer service u guys get. Refunds are impossible here and exchanges are only possible if ur machine's completely dead. I wasn't intending to use this computer for gaming, i just stumbled on a graphics card and good RAM and thought, hey i'll give it a go :p. Plus this was a present from my parents i can't take it back :s
