I have settled for a HP Compaq notebook. The "only" models that appeal to me is NX7010 and NW8000, both "business" notebooks.

    Pro for NX7010:
    Awesome look.
    Con for NX7010:
    Widescreen.

    Pro for NW8000:
    Better GPU.

    Con for NW8000:
Does'nt look as good as NX7010.

If you've got something to say about these "babies", please let me (and everyone else) know!

    Svarreby,

Just as an FYI, the NX7010 is a "business" unit, but it's mainly for Small Businesses and the NW8000 is a powerhouse workstation replacement for the Enterprise environment. The NX series are all for small business, lower cost than the NC/NW, has only 1 year warranty and shares model designs with the Pavilion & Presario models, which are Consumer products.

I'd recommend looking at the NC8000 rather than the NW8000. The NW8000 with the ATI FireGL T2 GPU is mainly used for CAD, 3D Modelling, etc.. and not really for personal gaming. If you plan to use this system for personal uses (gaming, multimedia), then the ATI 9600 in the NC8000 would be a better choice.

I had the NX7000 (model before NX7010) and I was happy with it. Good weight, small (for a 15.4" notebook) and pretty powerful. Din't like the fact that it didn't have a floppy drive and the GPU was only a 9200. The NC8000 has an integrated optical drive and also a modular Multibay where you can add a FDD or another battery to push runtimes upto 9hrs.

Both units are very nice, but the NX7010 is a snazzier system, but the NC8000 is a more feature packed unit. If I had to choose between the 2 units again, I think I'd go with the NC8000. You may also find that the build quality is slightly better on the NC/NW8000 series.
