What are people's views on the dv6565ca? ie, what's good, what's bad, any hardware problems, etc.

    HP dv6565ca specs

The CPU is low-end, but everything else looks good. Nice to see that they're including the GeForce 8400GS in retail models, ditto 802.11n and Bluetooth.

I knew the cpu was lame (but it is c2 so it's better than an AMD), but have you heard anything about hardware problems, that's what I'm really interested in cause my last laptop kept having failed parts within a few months of each other.

You can find a lot of reviews on the dv6500 series here on NBR.

Yeah, I knew about the reviews, what I wanted to know was whether the DV6565ca had any (future) hardware problems (ie, making the comp dead 3 months from now), haven't found anything in any of the reviews I've seen tho.

Here's my advice as an dv6565ca owner....

If you dont mind hearing your FANS run almost ALL the time (which does bother me), then there aint anything i can actually say....

The hardware seems to be working perfeclty... expect im wondering what the point of 2gb of ram when my ram usage is ony 42% and practically never over 48%.... (i Guess its an assurance to have 2gb, not really a NEED)

Well, it does have HDMI and im even able to watch apple trailers at 1080P ON BOTH SCREEN (HDTV AND LAPTOP screen) without any kind of choppy framerate!!!!! *now that IS cool!

As for bluetooght.... well, i dont use it, but i cant seem to turn is OFF (COULD ANY BODY TELL ME HOW EXCEPT THREW MSCONFIG PLZ AND STARTUP)

The wireless N only runs ad 130MBs..... which is odd because i have an EXTREME N wireless router... which well, is suppose to run 4X faster then G with compatible N receivers.... LoLz (Please dont say wireless signal strenght, I even tried being RIGHT NX TO IT and Connecting :p )

Overall, im pretty satisfied but I'd by something a little bit more "silent", because even at school, there are moment when im not doing anything in class and my laptop fans start working for no reason (in powersave mode). Oh, and people sitting next to me are like "WtF... why are the fans making so much noise.... :S)

Oh, here are the WINDOWS benchmark results:

    Processor: 4,7
    Memory (RAM): 4,5
    Graphics (**cauph Aero cauph**): !!!3.2!!!
Gaming Graphics (LoL Vista!!!! as if Aero is more demanding than Crysis!!): 4.1
    Primary Hard drive: 4.8

Hope this could give you a Consumer Perspective of the Laptop!!!

It's a great unit. Might have got a 2500 for better portability.

CPU on the low end???? It's the highest spec dv6000 series in Canada.

Fan loud???? Not mine. Quiet as can be.

If you dont mind hearing your FANS run almost ALL the time (which does bother me), then there aint anything i can actually say....

I was thinking of undervolting to get some more battery life, that should cool it off and keep that fan quiet.

Well, it does have HDMI and im even able to watch apple trailers at 1080P ON BOTH SCREEN (HDTV AND LAPTOP screen) without any kind of choppy framerate!!!!! *now that IS cool!

So it's an HD screen or just can connect to TV?

As for bluetooght.... well, i dont use it, but i cant seem to turn is OFF (COULD ANY BODY TELL ME HOW EXCEPT THREW MSCONFIG PLZ AND STARTUP)

Right click My Computer, go to properties, then select the Hardware tab, then Device Manager, and finally find the BT option, right click and disable it. Note that to enable it now you'll have to do the same thing, except enable it that time. Also if you use the BT button it will say it's en/dis abled though it won't actually do anything, works for wireless, etc.

The wireless N only runs ad 130MBs..... which is odd because i have an EXTREME N wireless router... which well, is suppose to run 4X faster then G with compatible N receivers.... LoLz (Please dont say wireless signal strenght, I even tried being RIGHT NX TO IT and Connecting :p )

wireless signal strenght, in your face :p

But in general it's awesome? Tries best Borat impression, "Very nice!"

I'm not saying it's quiet but undervolting the cpu would make it cooler, and since the BIOS is programmed to turn on the fan at a certain temp, the fan wouldn't likely come on as often as the necessary temp isn't being reached.
