ok i moved and during the move some boxes got lost that i didnt now about until today. well my problem is this i formated the hard drive on my hp zv6000 beacuse it wasnt working( ITOOK IT IN TO A SHOP AND THE DID IT FOR ME) and i thought i had the cds here but i dont!!! there in a box some place...where i dont know..so i went back to the shop to see how much they would charge for reinstalling the original software and they said 145 bucks!!!! when they only charged me 10 to do the format. I asked to by them and they said 135 for them.. so i asked if they would just burn me a copy and they said for a 100 bucks!!! So im looking for the system software that came with my ZV6000.
il take an iso or what ever but if you could help me that would be great.

I have an HP zv6000 but I really don't have any idea where my restore disks are. I would suggest calling HP and seeing if you could get it from them.

Any HP or Compaq WinXP Home CD (or Pro if that's what you originally had) should work. Newer is better. The licensing info on the CD is keyed to the HP/Compaq BIOS. Once that's installed, grab whichever drivers you need from the zv6000 download page on hp.com.

The trick is finding a plain install CD instead of the bloatware-infested restore CDs that are tied to a given model line.
