    Should i get the dv2000t or dv6000t
i really like the sleek design and smaller lighter laptop since i will be using it for college and playing games like company of heroes and wow nothing too hardcore. only reason why i looked at the dv6000t because of its 256mb geforce 7400 go, but should i just the dv2000t with 128mb geforce 7200go with 1gb ram and core 2 duo 2.0ghz
Is the 7400 ALOT better than 7200 to make a difference in Vista and game play?

Thanks for the help and time reading this and replying

Well, the dv 2000t with Core 2 Duo is a great machine. It's really light and portable, but the screen is still large enough to be usable. The 7200 is plenty to run Vista with all the aero bells and whistles and do some LIGHT gaming, but if gaming is something you would be doing frequently on the machine it will let you down. If that's the case, I would either go for the larger dv6000t or get one of the ASUS 14.1" notebooks that have higher end graphics options.

Ty for the comment jaderaverla, but i was wondering will i be able to run company of heroes and some other games like DOD, warcraft and wow
I really am not a hardcore gamer...just a casually maybe playing about 5 hrs in a week or less due to college
And also how is your experience with dv2000t...anything you dont like that should be fixed? And also i am very confused about the difference between LCDs, I heard QDS are the best then AUO then LGL then SEC, what are my chances i will get the QDS? if i order in a week or 2?

    Thank you again

Well, I can play World of Warcraft at all high settings, very smooth. Also warcraft at all high settings with no lag. And DOD as well. Haven't tried Company of Heroes yet. But all the other games you mentioned run perfectly at all high settings, always above 30 FPS. If I were you, if portability doesnt really matter, get dv6000z. The style is the same though, same "coolness." There is a signifigant difference between the 7400 and the 7200 though.

None of the games you mentioned are especially hard on graphics cards. In the next year though, with Unreal 3, Crysis, and other games that will want much more powerful graphics cards come out, the 7200 won't provide a very good gaming experience. If gaming on the notebook isn't a top priority then don't worry about it. The portability of the dv2000t more than makes up for the lower-powered graphics for me, but I mainly game on my desktop.

Personally, I wouldn't worry too much about the LCD. You can't do anything about it before you buy anyway. Order your system, and when it comes, pay some attention to the screen and see if it meets your standards. There are a number of different panels being used right now, and most of them are quite good. There are some SEC screens that don't seem to be as bright or clear as other screens, but then there are some that don't suffer from that problem. I don't know if HP uses more than one SEC screen on the machines or if there is just a wide spread of quality in the same SEC panels. Either way, if the screen you get seems to dim or isn't clear enough, return the machine and try again.
