    Hello,

I have bought a DV5T Notebook 1 month back from US and now i am India, there is physical damage on the LCD screen and i am sure teh LCD screen got broken. When i tried to call HP India Customer Care people, they have said this model is not available in INDIA and they cant do service. And when i chatted with HP US customer care people they said it charges $700 for repair which i dont think to pay as i can buy new Notebook.

Can anyone suggest me who can replace this LCD Screen in India (Pune or Mumbai) and if possbile can anyone give me teh address.

    Thanks in Advance
    Samba

How did the LCD screen break? HP always asks for insane amounts of money for repairs.

A new WGXA (1280x800) LCD panel should cost anywhere around $120. Like this. The WXGA+ will cost abit more.

You can replace it yourself using the video guide and service manual or get a third party repair shop to do it for a fee.

Here is what you need to do. If your laptop is less than a year old you are in luck.

    1. Go to the hp website and buy the accidental damage warrenty care pack.
    2. wait for the service pack to come in, then register the service pack.
    3. call hp and set up the fix.
