So I bought my Envy 14 about 2 months ago, and I have only had one problem, and it is microphones. My integrated mic works well, but anytime I try to use a headset, my mic seems to not work. Looking further into this it appears that my laptop is not picking up anything from the headset. I have tried 3 different headsets and tested them on a different laptop that I own. It works with my old laptop but doesn't work with this one. Can someone help me? Is it possible that my microphone port is busted?

are you plugging you headset into the correct hole? I believe you have 2 like we have on the Envy 17... one is for just the headset, one is for headset with mic. I would think if its just a headset without mic and you want to use the integrated mic in the display maybe you should plug your headset to the hole with the pic of the headset without a the mic on it. Maybe it will work for you, I do hope. Good luck.

I found the answer right after I posted this. I had no idea it was a combo jack, so my headset works because it was made to also work with smartphones. Dammit HP, thanks for the help though KJ.
