    I purchased the HP dv5t with these customizations:

    * Genuine Windows Vista Home Premium with Service Pack 1 (64-bit)
    * Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Duo Processor T9600 (2.80GHz)
    * 15.4" diagonal WSXGA+ High-Definition HP BrightView Widescreen Display (1680 x 1050)
    * 4GB DDR2 System Memory (2 Dimm)
    * 512MB NVIDIA GeForce 9600M GT
    * 320GB 5400RPM SATA Hard Drive with HP ProtectSmart Hard Drive Protection
    * Webcam + Fingerprint Reader
    * HP Color Matching Keyboard
    * Intel(R) WiFi Link 5100AGN and Bluetooth(TM)
    * No High speed 56K modem port
    * LightScribe SuperMulti 8X DVD+/-RW with Double Layer Support

    I'm going to be using my laptop for school, games, and creating websites and graphics (possibly buying the new version of Photoshop in the near future). Did I choose the right configurations for all I plan to do? Thanks in advance!

    You could save $60 buy upgrading the RAM yourself from 2GB to 4GB by buying cheaper ram off of newegg.com.

    Before you buy checlk with the $400 coupon still works. Its NB6997.

    The T9600 seems like overkill to me. You could save yourself $350 by going with the P8400 instead. Sure, the T9600 is 400 megahertz faster, but I don't think that's worth the $350.

    On a side note, if you maxed it out why bother asking? lol

    You would only need like a P8600 and 3 gigs of ram. The Infinity display is disputable.

    Thanks everyone. I just wanted to make sure I selected the right options. I did go a bit crazy and maxed everything I could out. I wanted to make sure that my computer could not only run large programs like Photoshop but that I could play any game I wanted to without lagging or crashing. I bought the laptop before finding out about the $400 coupon, so I called HP. The man said that the coupon has expired but he would take an additional 150 off my order, so HP took $300 off altogether.

    My laptop shipped today! How long does it usually take for HP to get your laptop to you? (I had no idea it shipped from Shanghai).

    Since you live near Memphis it should arrive by Friday or at the very least it should be there by Monday. The laptop will ship from Shanghai to Anchorage, AK then on to Memphis. So, you are lucky!

    Usually the only sources of delay is at customs but if it passes through then fedex is pretty quick, my tx2500 shipped from Shanghai to Charleston, WV in 4 days.

    Yea these laptops ship quick. Mine shipped out on a Monday, came Thursday morning (I am in New York).

    Also, killer rig you got there girl! Gonna run like a dream. I do agree the T9600 is a bit much (gonna run hot). Could have saved a few bucks and went with the P8600, or even the T9400 if you wanted to stick with the T series.

    But you are going to be using Photoshop so the T9600 is going to shine there! :)

    Enjoy your dv5t, its an awesome laptop.

    LOL! you are like the 4th person from WV I have seen since I began posting in the forum!!

    But, you might get in on Monday, if it doesnt make it on Friday because I dont think Fedex do weekend deliveries for this type of shipments. Remember that fedex display local time in the tracking, so considering Shanghai is 12hrs ahead of us(EST). They are very slow updating the tracking initially but once its in Alaska, it should make its way down pretty quick. In any csae this was the tracking details for my shipment...

    Hey guys! Thank you for responding...

    I am so excited :D Before this, I bought the DeLL XPS M1210 (Intel Core 2 Duo Processor T5600, 2GB RAM, Integrated Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 950GM, and 80GB 5400RPM SATA Hard Drive) I loved it...at first...but as Tim the Toolman Taylor says "It needs more power!" lol I can't help but think about how far technology has come since my old Packard Bell desktop with Windows 3.1 for Workgroups. All I could do on it was use MS Paint, but it was still awesome to me :p

    Kevinf: I ordered my laptop on the 13th.

    Rushc: A killer rig indeed!

    Infamous22: I know I'm gonna love it :) Still having dreams about it too lol

    Got my laptop this morning :D Everything works perfect, except one thing. I have a DSL service from my local phone company. Every now and then my internet gets disconnected..so tomorrow I'm going to do a little research to see what the problem is.
