This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved. For current discussions, many NBR forum users moved over to NotebookTalk.net after the shutdown.

    I read a thread on here before that HP does not offer the 8600gt or better, because they reserve the better video cards for use to Voodoo PC?

    Or is this untrue, HP is justing testing the cards out before putting it up for customers?

    The Pavilion laptops are suppose to be entertainment laptops, not gaming laptops, so I expect that is why they don't have the 8600M GT.

    I don't really know why though. It would make me a happier customer :D

    HP doesn't offer the 8600m GT for their Pavilion line and it is highly doubtful that they ever will.
