    Could someone point me to a video adapter that works (either mDP --> VGA, or HDMI --> VGA), that's not the HP one? Thanks in advance.

    Amazon.com: HDMI to VGA HD15 (Male) Cable: Electronics

    I'm going to assume that my lack of research won't stop this from working.

    otherwise I mean, could look on mono price

    edit: then again, it apparently doesn't do much if you don't have a converter or something.

    Thanks for the suggestions, but I should explain that the apple adapters don't work with the Envy 14. and yea Magus, that adapter isn't really an adapter.

    The ones that actually work are going to be Digital to Analog converter boxes. Since that is what is required. They will be pricey. Some cost as much as a monitor that has HDMI input.

    Anyone has a list of what adapters work?

    Tried the Apple one -- doesn't work.
    Tried a generic no-brand one in a local store -- didn't work either.

    Am thinking of getting the Accell one but would appreciate anyone who can give alternatives or confirm it works as I'm in Malaysia and international ordering makes returns tough.

    Can you confirm that this works on the E14? Mine's configured with the ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5650.
    Thanks,
    Eugene

    That is the mDP -> DVI-D adapter, which does work.

    The question is regarding xxx->VGA

    would it be possible to use an HDMI splitter to output to two monitors or would I need to use both the HDMI and mDP outs?

    Can the laptop be shut when outputting to two displays or does it need to stay open with a blank screen?
