Well I am having trouble finding a 5ghz card for my DV6-6135DX. So far I love the laptop just hate the slow wifi card that only connects to the 2.4ghz band. I have pulled up the maintence section for this laptop pn LW262UA. I come up with just one option that I can tell will work.

Its the Realtek 8188BC8 802.11a/b/g/n 2x2 WiFi and Bluetooth 3.0+HS Combo card. Its listed on page 32 of the manual. The part number is 602993-001

Well here lies the problem if you put that part number in the Hp parts surfer order form well it comes up with a totaly different description.

B/G/N (1x1) WLAN card - Half MiniCard (HMC) combo Tozai

So how do we know if we are getting the right card or not.

Has anybody else found a Compatible whitelist card that supports 5ghz for the DV6 with a A8 amd in it?

HP's service manual is a lie and as far as I'm concerned you should all complain to the CEO's office (again, since Apotheker is out and Whitman is in) and request the removal of WLAN whitelists in the BIOS since HP is incompetent in synchronizing their parts store staff, parts numbers, service manuals, and India tech support to tell us something that isn't a lie.

Nope. I ordered the only card that was available from HP that was said to be a 2x2 card. Well it was not. It's a farce. Their customer support on the parts side sucks. BIG TIME. Unless you want to take the risk of removing the whitelist on your bios, your out of luck. From what I can tell there are no cards that will use the 5ghz band that will work in our laptops.

As I told you 3 weeks ago, it was a lie.
