I have a dv6500z coming in the mail and i need a wireless routher. I have comcast high speed at home and only one desktop set up. I have no experience with routhers at all so i need your help. My price is no higher than $50 but i want the best for that price. My Laptop has a "Wireless LAN 802.11a/b/g/n" don't really know what that means but can you help me pick the best laptop for under $50.

I'd go with a Linksys WRT54GL or Buffalo WHR-G125, both of which are Broadcom chipset (like your HP) Linux routers that are compatible with the DD-WRT firmware project. You won't necessarily use that firmware but it's a nice option to have. The WRT54GL is considerably more reliable than the cheaper WRT54G (non-Linux).

i recommend linksys... but with your laptop having an N frequency, why dont you consider getting a Wireless-N router? i think it would cost you less than $100 + discounts due to the holidays.
