    1) What is your budget?
    $1500-$2500

    2) What size notebook would you prefer?
    15.4 inch, 17 inch is fine

    3) Please select your country's flag as a post icon and tell us what country are you buying this in.

    4) Are there any brands that you prefer or any you really don't like?
    Some of the brands that I prefer are: HP, Sager,Clevo, Dell
    Any opinions on the HP Compaq 8710 w/p? I am particularly interested in this notebook.
    Some of the brands I HATE: Apple

    5) What tasks will you be performing with the notebook?
    School work, excessive gaming, music, video editing

    6) Will you be taking the notebook with you to different places or leaving it on your desk?
    I will usually be taking my notebook with me.

    7) Will you be playing games on it; if so, which games?
    Call of Duty 4, Age of Empires 3, Warcraft 3, Oblivion etc.

    8) How many hours of battery life do you need?
    At least 2 hours.

    9) Do you mind buying online without seeing the notebook in person?
    Sure.

    10) What OS do you prefer? Windows (XP or Vista), Mac OS, Linux, etc.
    Definitely Windows (XP, Vista is fine too)

    11) Would you prefer standard or widescreen?
    Widescreen
    12) From the choices below, what screen resolutions would you prefer?
    WSXGA+ - 1680x1050; Wider viewing version of SXGA, good for movie viewing or spreadsheets.

    WUXGA - 1920x1200; Wider viewing version of UXGA, good for movie viewing or spreadsheets.

    13) Do you want a glossy/reflective screen or a matte/non-glossy screen?
    I prefer matte, just to avoid glare. I also prefer an LG screen. Samsung screen tend to lack quality and the colors are usually washed out.

    14) Are the notebook's looks and stylishness important to you?
    I am looking for something reliable and powerful. It doesn't have to be stylish. But not to boring either.

    15) When are you buying this laptop and how long do you want this laptop to last?
    I am planning to buy a laptop in the next few weeks. I want this laptop to last at least 3-4 years.

    Notebook Components

    16) How much hard drive space do you want; 40GB to 500GB?
    at least 160 GB 7200 RPM

    17) Do you need an optical drive? If yes, a CDRW/DVD-ROM, DVD Burner or Blu-Ray drive?
    CDRW/DVD-ROM/DVD Burner is fine.

    How the HP Compaq business line? Any opinions on those laptops? I don't want something that is overpriced.

    For 15.4" laptops, I would suggest either the ASUS G1S, Dell XPS M1530, HP Compaq Business 8510w, or Lenovo Thinkpad T61p. As for 17" laptops, I would suggest the ASUS G2S, and HP Compaq Business 8710p.
