So after doing a research I came across HP ENVY m6-1125dx (available at Best Buy, here)

I would like to know if this is a good laptop or not ?

I need a laptop for school, home and work / development (and for also watching movie) so I am looking for reliability and better hardware/specs.

Is this laptop new ? old ? is it too early to buy a windows 8 laptops because windows 8 just came out and still there is not a lot of variety (or options) available in market ?

How is the touchscreen of this laptop ?

    Please provide your advise.

Can you suggest any other laptop (if you think this is not a right choice or not very good) ?

Hi, I did a review of the HP ENVY m6 here:

I think it's a great option for a thin and light laptop, it's a good cross between a mainstream and Ultrabook style laptop. It came out just a few months ago, so it's fairly new. The Windows 8 option is of course new and I haven't used the hardware with Windows 8, but performance should be about the same -- just the UI that's different.

One thing I think you should check, I'm fairly certain this model is not touchscreen, I'm not aware of an ENVY m6 configuration that offers touchscreen. The ENVY 4 TouchSmart does however offer a TouchScreen, it's quite a different style of laptop though.
