I am having a very hard time getting Windows XP to install I have even downloaded the ata sata drivers for my hard drive! I used Nlite to mod the disk and add the drivers, I also tried loading the drivers via floppy drive and still no luck I keep getting the blue screen of death any ideas?!? Also I need to know how to fix the settings so I can install MAC OS Snow Leopard on it! Any help would be great! I am currently running Bios That was just updated on April 19, 2010 ! Please help me figure out what to do!

First, your hard drive does not need drivers to work. If any drivers are needed they are for the hard drive controller chip on the motherboard and Windows 7 should have all the necessary drivers included already.

What error is displayed on the bluescreen when install crashes? Have you checked it actually means hard drive issue, it could actually be warning about faulty memory or something totally different I can't even think of now.

nLite is meant for WinXP, so what software/version you are actually using? Have you tried installing with unmodded disc?

Dude I've got the same problem. Hp did all they could, not to let us install XP on an HP.
I got the dv7 3188 as well. It's my third week of trying... What worked with the older models, doesn't work with the new ones.
No options for SATA in BIOS. Slipstreamed XP's don't work.
    I'm all out of ideas...
