I bought an HP Pavilion 17T ab000 Touchscreen notebook a little over a year ago, but can't find much information about it.

When I tried to search for ab000 on the forums, nothing came up. It also doesn't fit into the other Pavilion categories like DV7 etc.

I did find some documentation on HP's site for the manuals.

But I am having an issue with it freezing up and crashing on me. There's no blue screen, the screen freezes up and I have to power off manually.

I did notice it happens when I pick up the laptop from the left rear corner, or if the laptop isn't flat on a table (I guess it bends or torques a bit).

My guess was the lid hinge on the left side might be faulty, or the screen cable might be damaged or loose.

Looking at the manual it doesn't look like much is in that location; a speaker, usb cables and fan. The display cable looks like it runs through that corner, maybe it got pinched and needs to be replaced?

I'm going to open it up tomorrow to see what gives, since it seems to be working fine right now. Last night it kept crashing.

If anyone knows more information about this model, please let me know. Maybe this was a common issue so HP discontinued it?

    Wow, no one here knows.

    I'm surprised.
