I have an HP Pavilion DV2200 notebook. My power adapter recently stopped working and I need a new one. But l don't know which I should buy.

The HP online store doesn't even have a listing for a DV2200. There's one for DV2000, and I would assume that's what I should go with, considering I ordered a DV2000, even though the sticker underneath says it's a DV2200. But even if "it's the same", it probably isn't (due to the fact that my friend has a DV2000 and his adapter won't fit in my notebook. His battery is also longer than mine).

What's even more confusing is that I have a small, white, rectangular sticker on my adapter saying to "replace with HP spare 409515-001", even though the actual label says the part number is 393954-001, but says to "replace with HP spare 394224-001."

[This is actually my second adapter. I sent in the first one along with my notebook for a motherboard replacement (there was a recall). This newer adapter had the white sticker placed upon it.]

I would be more inclined to trust the part number that's actually stuck onto the adapter (with the caution and voltage information), but thought I'd ask here to make sure.

Also, does HP fluctuate the prices of their accessories? One of the adapters I was looking at a week ago seems to have went up $20 in price since then. Is it also a good idea to look at third party adapters or not?
