Why do you need 16GB of RAM?

I wouldn't be asking for it if I didn't need it.. we work with huge photoshop files. Memory literally runs out.

Anyone can provide some help? Thx

It should work. Wouldn't the memory down clock itself to work like installing 1333 MHz ram on i5 but still running.

How many threads are you going to ask this question in? Past 8gb, the laptop only supports 1333mhz. Its in the documentation that you read. Do you not believe the documentation?

If you buy 1600mhz, chances are the system will downclock it to 1333mhz. A waste of money, otherwise, to spend on 1600mhz.

Buy what the manufacturer recommends; 2x8gb at 1333mhz.

The 16GB 1600mhz will work on our envy 15 since we have the upgraded CPU (i7-2860QM), I confirmed this on Intel's website.

It would work, downclocking itself if necessary.

I didn't say you didn't need it, nor did I imply it. I asked why. Most people don't, so I wondered what you did that required so much. Thanks for answering. But for the record, if you hadn't needed it, you wouldn't have been the first total stranger in the world on a message board to want something unnecessary, so I wouldn't have taken it personally.
