Hey guys, so recently my notebook has been shutting off my network connection whenever I close my lid. This didn't start happening until maybe a few weeks ago, maybe even less. I couldn't say if there was anything I did to accidentally cause this, but I certainly didn't do anything intentionally. I've looked through all the network connections properties and whatnot and I can't seem to find a fix. Does anyone have experience with this?

By the way, I'm using an HP DV6500t that I purchased almost a year and a half ago. I have the Intel Wireless WiFi Link 4965AGN.

It was the first thing I checked :( "Lid close" is set to "do nothing."

    Sleep After: Never/Never
    Hybrid Sleep: Off/Off
    Hibernate After: 20 mins/Never
    USB settings: Disabled/Disabled
    Lid close: Sleep/Do Nothing
    Power Button: Sleep/Sleep
    Sleep Button: Sleep/Sleep
    Start Menu Power Button: Sleep/Sleep
    Etc...

Lid close says sleep on battery. Change that to Do Nothing for now.

Another possibility is the antenna that runs through the monitor panel is frail and everytime you close it, it looses reception.

That's possible. I've been pirating a signal with crappy reception for a little while now. I'm getting my own access point next week, so maybe that will fix it.

Stealing WiFi internet is against a law making it against the forum rules aswell. Not to mention it is unsafe.

Try again when you get your own access point.
