    Just came across the following:

$500 off HP Pavillion Notebooks $1399+
    1. Click Here to see HP Pavilion Pavillion Notebooks.
    2. Apply coupon code NB1399 at checkout.
    3. Hurry, this coupon ends 1/7.

Of course, I just received my DV6500t and am now considering returning it.

    Merry Christmas!!!

    AWESOME! ...........................................................

Figures! I bought a laptop under 3 months ago with a 30% off coupon....and had I waited and used this now.... I could have gotten the same system....only 256mb more dedicated vid memory, 1 more gig of ram and bluetooth included (and a webcam but screw that) ...for the same price. I think there's a rule that you just can't think like that cause it always happens.....but still. I HATE computers.

    Howdy

First post fellas, but I know there will be more to come from me, so I look foward to talkin to y'all and asking and giving advice. I stumbled upon this site while looking for a review about HPs tv tuner. To my suprise I saw this thread with the $500 coupon posted. This coupon was for the exact laptop I was looking for and I couldn't have been more excited about finding this deal.

    dpmb,

THANK YOU FOR POSTING THIS THREAD!!! I'm in the process of replacing my dv5000 hp that was stolen a couple weeks ago and the coupon really helped me out in a pinch to go ahead with the new HP purchase. I got an awesome deal, so thanks again man!

    HOLY CRAP!

I just placed an order a few hours ago and could have gotten a better system for a LOWER PRICE!

I read HP's policies and they won't cancel my order, but they have an 800 number if your order was placed in error. Think I can use that to get it canceled?

Also, are there any strings attached to this coupon? I'm guessing not, but I want to be sure.

UPDATE: I called HP support tonight (at 12:30 eastern time) and talked to a surprisingly helpful (though somewhat difficult to understand) gentleman. He said that unfortunately, their "cancellation center" is closed and I would need to call back tomorrow starting at 10:00 A.M. eastern time. I really hope I can get this cancelled, but if all else fails, I'll just order both and return the one I don't want. Does anyone have experience with returning computers to HP? Should it be a relatively painless process, given that I won't even open the product box?

In all my excitement, I forgot to thank dpmb for posting this. As a college student on a limited budget, I tip my hat to you for hopefully helping me get a $1400 computer for $900 (rather than an $1100 laptop for $1100).

I think you should be able to cancel. Last year I was able to cancel my online dv9000CTO order when I got a slightly better deal in best buy, and with immediate gratification.

Fortunately, I was able to cancel it. I'm currently working on customizing a 6700t and once I get my money refunded, I'll buy it.

Uh, why? I just picked up a dv6500t SE about three weeks ago using a 30% off coupon. Total price out the door? $1,208 with T7700, 8400GS, Bluetooth, AGN wireless, Webcam/Mic, two batteries (6 and 12 cell), Lightscribe Super-Multi, 250GB HDD, and 2GB RAM. Spec'd out the same system today on a dv6700 SE (they don't offer the dv6500 SE anymore with the T7700) with the $500 coupon and the price comes to $1,238 out the door.

Gee, a whole $30 bucks I could save. Not worth it in my opinion...

When I canceled an order about two hours after I ordered it, they told me it was canceled but they shipped it anyway and i had to ship it back to them. I got a full refund and the shipping was free.

Yeah, it's not working for me, either. It must have expired or something.

    Perfect. Thanks, HP.
