    Fixes

    # Modifies the thermal policy to lower the local alert temperature.
    # Fixes an intermittent issue where the notebook does not detect the hard drive when booting.

Yes, I saw that also. Have not run the update yet.. Oddly, HP update doesn't see it at all, says I'm up to date with F.52

Now to see why my "Launch HP Health Check" springs a "file not found" error.
    It's always something.

BTW, just ordered Acronis True Image 11 as a sure fire way to recover from major crapouts quickly and painlessly.

I wonder if they changed anything else. I updated 2 of 3 DV9500T's, and they seem a lot smoother all around. The fan does not come on as often either.

    Hmmm.

What was your previous BIOS? I'm running F.51 and it works very well. It was a big improvement from F.45 in terms of the fan.

good choice man. I use this program as well. It works the best out of the several cloning programs I was able to try out.

Question: what does the "t" refer to at the end of "dv6X00t"? I have a dv6130us... what is the difference?!

usually if someone says they have a dv6700t or like a dv9700t it means that the nb is intel. I think that if it ends in Z it means that its an AMD. This is only done on CTO custom nb's

I have a dv6375 and f29 is the newest I see(11/2007). Is that the latest?

Were you responding to me? Hard to tell without the quotes.

If this works with the 6375, why doesn't HP's driver download page have it listed? Where do I go if not there?

Ok.. now what about dv6000us... That's what I have. I also have intel (core 2 duo). What does the "us" stand for? Do the different letter's refer to different models? For instance, the BIOS for the "t's" is different then the BIOS for the "us's" or "z's"...?

Yes, I was responding to you. I'm not sure why it's not showing up for you. For my dv9700t CTO, it's showing up on HP's site. You might want to just check back regularly to see if they've updated it, because maybe they wanted to tweak it a little bit for your model (a complete guess).

How is it going with F.53? I’m still using F.51 and it works well. Is there any reason to risk an upgrade? Are there any noticeable improvements vs. F.51?

F.29 is the latest for your machine. The BIOS listed in this thread only applies to dv65xx/dv95xx Intel machines and above.

I recently installed the F.53 BIOS. So far there are no problems. I think the fan takes longer to ramp up to the higher levels with F.53 and doesn’t reach the top level as often as it did with F.51. This is just my initial impression.
