Just got my new DV2000t this week. Everything is great, except it seems that the hard drive is running too hot. Just running idle, it gets up to 49C. So under load I would assume it would get well past 50C. The problem with this is the underside of the laptop is really hot, which is uncomfortable when its on my lap (which is pretty much all the time).
When I ordered I got a free upgrade to a 160GB drive (Hitachi), and I'm not sure if the 80 or 120 GB would have been cooler.
What temp do other HP laptop owners run at? I would really prefer if I could get this thing down around 40C. Would a different hard drive capacity or brand help? I really don't want to get a cooler underneath it, that seems kind of hackey to me...not what I want for a brand new laptop.
Any advice or recommendations?

Well, mostly you are noticing it dependable on where it's located in your laptop. Some HP models have HDD's installed to the left of touchpad and the HEAT off HDD is really annoying, especially when the LAPTOP is really THIN... I am afraid you can't do anything about it as HDD's always get that HOT.
