HP just posted a new DV6-6190us Graphics driver,
though it is dated 9-16-2011, it just appeared today.
Has anyone tried it? Is it really newer for the 6770 or
just then intel 3000? Any better framerates or stability?
    Thanks

This is the information of what changes:

    Driver Packaging Version 8.83.6.3-110507a-119506C-HP
    Provider ATI Technologies Inc.
    2D Driver Version 8.01.01.1134
    Direct3D Version 7.14.10.0817
    OpenGL Version 6.14.10.10600
    Catalyst Control Center Version 2011.0508.224.2391

    Driver Version 8.830.6.3000

Forgot to copy the old version

I haven't played but just installed it. I'll be checking later or tomorrow. From a fast run. BF3 seems to run smoother than last time I played it. A bit more better frame rates.
So it seems that they might have just went up one from 11.4 to 11.5 if I am reading it right.

I am already running 11.8 just fine. Unless this package updates the Intel drivers, this release seems rather redundant to me.

However, I thought 11.4 was the OEM stock/factory shipped package and 11.5 was the driver package released in may/june?

Well, that was pretty stupid ... it still based off the older 11.4 with an additional very minor revision.
I expected an HP 11.6 since it's already been in the WU for a couple of months

    ------

    To read the version better...
    8.8 -> means the Cat 11.X series like 8.7 means Cat 10.X
8.83 -> the 3 means either Cat X.3 or Cat X.4 depending if generic or OEM (OEM starts off with 0)

I tried it at 1920 x 1080...graphics set at the Medium preset (Anisotropic Filter: 1x and Ambient Occlusion off) and i was averaging like 22fps...sometimes it would dip down to like 15..so not too great and with Coolsense on Performance Optimized my Core #1 goes up to 95 degrees C

This is all with the newest driver..which doesn't seem to do much. What kinda FPS do you guys get with same setting plz?

I have absolutely no idea what driver I'm running. Why doesn't AMD label them more clearly.

 I AGREE  - what a pain... You can always open up the Device Manager and get it from the Display Adapter Driver tab. To make things worse, Catalyst Control Center has its own version and I still don't understand their numbering scheme ... however I assume there is a method to the madness.

If you find that figuring out the AMD drivers versioning difficult, take a look at broadcom drivers versioning. :D

Their versioning are not in a straight forward increments.
    -------------------------------------------------

The CCC versioning, you read them as dates, branch, revision.
But the build date is the best indicator.
