I picked up a DV6t for a friend. Booted it up, looked at WEI scores. Looked fine. Did a double take, wait what 6.6 for graphics? My MBP gets 6.9 with a weaker 6750m.

    Ran re-assessment, 6.5. Any thoughts?

Also, ran 3dmark11, vantage, and 06. Scores seem to be a bit on the low side (albeit higher than a stock 6750m). IIRC, the scores were ~1490, ~6000, ~9300.

Cool sense was set to performance.

Try updating your drivers. If that doesn't work, try doing a minimized restore.

Quite a bit of bloatware on it. It didn't come with a restore disk, is this normal? There's only the recovery partition; any ideas how to go about repartitioning the drive?

Is it pretty safe to uninstall everything that starts with "HP"?

The 3dmark scores seem right though right?

You can create recovery discs (searching "recovery" in the start menu will find where you'd do that).

You can also find where to do a minimized restore there as well but make the discs first.

You've got Intel's card assessment, update the BIOS, switch to fixed graphics and you will get 6.9.
