    Hey all,

I would really appreciate some expertise here on a problem I'm having. I recently spilled some orange soda into an open CD tray on my HP Pavilion dv6000. I tried cleaning it out thoroughly, but it's dead. :( So now I need a new drive. Question is: Does anyone know what drive(s) would fit or is there one you would particularly recommend? According to Bixnet, the NB-DVDRW8 ( http://www.bixnet.com/insldvcodr.html) will fit my computer, but I don't think that's right because the drive has clearly got a straight rectangular shape and the side of my laptop tapers up toward the front so the right side of the drive is a bit taller than the left side. Any ideas?

    Any "slim" drive should work.

Please note that even though "any slim drive should work" it mostly likely won't look the same or fit the same as the bezel is going to be different. Companies customize the bezel to fit the computer, you'll notice how the bezel is thicker on one side and thins towards the front, a drive bought after market typically won't have this or at least won't be exact.

I've seen HP's HD-DVD/DVD-RW combo is for sale on HP parts for $240 only!
